Andy Fox

Owner/Pitmaster

Andy hails from a barbecue capital, just not a Texas one. Raised just outside of Kansas City, he grew up on great barbecue and tried and true traditions. It wasn’t until Andy was travelling to Texas often for business that he embraced another great barbecue tradition, that of brisket and community.

In 2020, the Fox family decided to fully embrace this love of tradition, community, and great barbecue. Fox&Fire Barbecue was opened in an orange trailer in North Kansas City and not long after, they found their permanent home in Kearney, Missouri.

Our Crew

While you’ll typically find our crew working hard to get orders prepped and out the window Thursday-Saturday, they’re also working behind the scenes almost every day of the week. It all starts with grinding and hand stuffing sausages, making sides and trimming the meat. Then before we feed you, the crew spends hours tending the fires to give you a meal that will remind you what community barbecue is all about.

Ultimately, without our dedicated crew there is no barbecue.

The Food Truck

Our smokehouse and restaurant is technically a smoker/trailer and a food truck, but that doesn’t change a thing about the experience. From the moment you arrive, barbecue is in the air. We do operate on a first come first serve basis, so when the food is gone, it’s gone. Barbecue takes time and fulfilling orders can too if it’s busy – so please be patient, order up, sit down, make a few friends and enjoy!

Now, there is a little building off to the right for restrooms. It’s also our office, and we can’t have you getting sauce all over the paperwork.
